Executive Search Recruiting Firm
Are you an operations executive who thrives on the challenge of bringing change to an established manufacturing business? Are you tired of companies who preach LEAN and yet fear real efforts to bring about a CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (CI) culture? If this sounds like you, we need to talk.
My exclusive client is a smaller to midsized, well-established manufacturer of mechanical components and systems used primarily for infrastructure applications. It has been declared as an essential business by the Federal Government. The current president has done a phenomenal job in developing relationships with wireless technology and IOT (INTERNET OF THINGS) Business Partners to offer complete solutions to their North American clients, giving them a clear edge over their competition. Sales are up, they have expanded into 3 separate local facilities, expanding production capacity.
Sounds too good to be true? It is! We are missing a key person to this success story. That is where you come in. We are looking for that rare combination of hands on Plant Manager who can drive production, quality, scheduling, materials management, maintenance, engineering who can also work closely with the President as part of the Executive Management team and devise operational strategy for the future, drive continuous improvement and lead your teams to dynamic change in all three divisions.
The successful candidate will have an engineering degree, ideally advanced education, ideally LEAN certification(s), experience in managing more than one business unit or facility that manufactures mechanical components or systems (machining, plastics, stampings, widgets, product does not matter as much as skillset), who has been a hands on operations manager who also has strategic planning and metrics. This is a long-established company who has a long tenured, much appreciated work force and is in one of the prettiest areas of the country, yet close to major cities like DC and Baltimore, without the crowding, traffic, and taxes! We need someone with a solid work history, not a job hopper or consultant, who has a track record of achieving operational excellence.
The total compensation will be ideally in the $130,000 to $160,000 range. Excellent benefits and relocation assistance package are available. The leadership team, workforce, culture, and future of this company are amongst the best I have worked with in my 30 years as an Executive Recruiter. If you think you match what I am searching for, you probably owe it to yourself to contact me at Tim@FlanaganSearch.com . As always, I will keep all information we share strictly confidential. Thanks for your interest and I hope you have a great day!
An energetic restart of a well-respected niche manufacturer of engineered components and systems with a new mission supplying custom products to mobile equipment OEMs. Think robots, IOT applications on wheels, tracks… You will manage a team of three, but make no mistakes, you will be the sole hunter. Calling on new and existing clients to engage, consult, and apply our unique engineered products to a fast-growing market. Based in the Philly area with 50% travel in the US.
The person we want is a sales hunter with engineering education or experience who has sold customized components or systems (prefer mechanical, motion, power, motors, etc.) into OEMs of some type of equipment. Salary to $125,000 plus bonus. If you want to work with a small but growing custom manufacturer in a very collaborative and respectful environment, reporting directly to the CEO, this might be a great opportunity for you! Please send your resume to Tim@FlanaganSearch.com
Thanks for your interest! All resumes will be treated in strictest confidence. Tim Flanagan CPC, President, Flanagan Search.

Starting your own company is an opportunity to set new policies in place that may be different from your old job. After 27 years working for a large search firm, I am happy to do away with contests for days off around holidays, which when the goal is met comes the inevitable, “You have earned the day off, but let your conscience by your guide” email from management. We were all commissioned sales folks, we know if we should take the time off or not! A Sacred Cow in our office was a policy or procedure that has become ubiquitous and so ingrained with the culture that it could not and probably … [Read More...]

Since starting my own Executive Search Firm about six weeks ago, I have found that one thing I miss from having been a Partner in a large established firm is mentoring. Over 25+ years, I have mentored dozens of very bright recruiters. Many have gone onto great careers in recruiting, some became Rookie of the Year, some have become partners in the firm and some have decided that headhunting is not their destiny, but (I hope) all learned something of value from me. I have gone though a range of emotions when mentoring from frustration when they just don’t get it to feeling like I am investing a … [Read More...]
